The AP Freedom® is a NEMA Type 4X outdoor telecom enclosure engineered to shield sensitive electronics in demanding field conditions. Built to NEMA Type 4X standards, this single-bay enclosure protects equipment from rain, sleet, snow, splashing water, hose-directed water, and damage caused by external ice formation — a dependable choice for lower-capacity sites that still demand serious environmental protection. Inside, the cabinet provides standard rack units (RU) for shelving, a grounding terminal that guards against electrical surges, a solar shield roof that reduces cooling demand, and pre-wired powered receptacles. The AP Freedom is designed and manufactured at our facility in Strafford, Missouri, using U.S.-sourced components wherever possible — so every enclosure helps you meet Build America, Buy America (BABA) requirements. Welded aluminum construction, 304 stainless steel hardware, and outdoor-rated TGIC powder coating give the cabinet long-term resistance to corrosion and the elements. Because we integrate racks, power, and accessories in-house before the enclosure ever leaves the factory, you receive a turnkey, ready-to-deploy solution that keeps your project on schedule.
Climate Control Options
Because outdoor equipment generates heat and faces temperature extremes, the AP Freedom can be configured with factory-installed climate control. Depending on enclosure size and configuration, options include air conditioning units (1,000 to 12,000 BTU/hr) with built-in and cold-start heaters, 48 VDC powered exhaust fans with adjustable thermostats and filters, heat exchangers, baseboard heaters (100W–1000W, 115VAC), and battery heater pads. Insulation is recommended whenever a climate control option is added.
