American Products designs multibay enclosure solutions to provide more features, more room, more access and ultimately, more convenience and possibilities for virtually any service provider.
Let’s take a closer look at these cabinets and how our team put service provider needs first in the design.
Exploring Our Multibay Enclosure Solutions
Exterior Construction
First, let’s look at how American Products builds these multibay enclosure solutions to stand up to the elements and protect networking equipment for years.
We use aircraft-grade aluminum, which provides excellent corrosion resistance. Then, we powder coat the aluminum to enhance the resistance even further. If you’re interested in learning more about aluminum and why it’s great for outdoor enclosures, visit the Comparing Enclosure Construction Materials article. In addition, you can learn more about powder coating and the accompanying benefits in our article detailing the 5 Common Metal Enclosure Exterior Finishes.
American Products offers dual-bay enclosures with a NEMA 4X or NEMA 3R rating. The biggest difference is that 4X version is fully welded, which mitigates the chance of water or dust intrusion even more. 3R cabinets are bolted together, which means the cabinet will still protect the equipment inside, but it’s not as effective against windblown dust. NEMA 4X cabinets also come with gland plates, which make it easy to run cable or conduit into the cabinet and then seal off the opening.
Our enclosure experts have years of experience working with a variety of network providers in a range of climates and environmental conditions. Therefore, service providers who are unsure which rating would benefit them most can work with a consultant to find the option that fits their network needs best.
In addition to heavy-duty walls, the dual-bay cabinet doors feature three-point latching systems–they latch at the top, side and bottom to ensure a proper seal on the gaskets. Again, this keeps water and dust out, protecting the equipment inside even further. The doors also have full-length stainless steel hinges, as well as ground straps and wind guards to keep the door open while techs are working inside.
Standard Integrated Solutions
On the inside, American Products designs multibay enclosure solutions to include the convenience features network providers want and need. “Want and need” are key there. Our team strives to include the features network providers are looking for, while not loading the enclosure with extras that are unnecessary and just add value for the manufacturer. Instead, our team uses their decades of experience with a variety of network providers of all sizes to design in the features that add value for the customers.
For example, all multibay cabinets are factory integrated with either 19” or 23” racks that are adjustable front to back. The racks are numbered for easy reference when installing network equipment.
All multibay cabinets feature a master ground bar in each bay. Our team also includes a schematic that illustrates the panel schedule and all wiring diagrams for each individual cabinet.
Customizations
The American Products team recognizes that each network provider has their own challenges to overcome and their own equipment wish list. Therefore, our team works directly with telecommunications organizations when designing their enclosures to help ensure the cabinet meets their needs.
The team determines whether the customer needs a passive or active cabinet. Many want a dual-function cabinet, so our team designs a passive side and an active side. If fiber is involved, American Products has a team of Fiber Optic Association (FOA) trained technicians that integrate fiber into the multibay cabinets to ensure proper fiber management. In addition, we use clear dust covers on all fiber adaptors, allowing techs to trace a fiber simply by putting a light at the end of the fiber and then looking in the cabinet.
We can also help keep the interior neat and tidy with vertical and/or horizontal fiber management systems.
Another convenience option we offer is our own proprietary splitter panel, which will accept virtually any organization’s splitter. Our team designed this panel specifically to counteract the ongoing supply chain crisis–we believe that something as simple as a splitter should never hold a project up.
Depending on the use, many service providers also consider climate control systems for their enclosures. American Products offers everything from HVAC systems to heat exchangers. Just like with the NEMA rating, our enclosure specialists can help determine which is best for your network.
The American Products team can factory integrate all available options, so the service provider receives a cabinet that is ready to deploy.
At American Products, we specialize in building top-quality enclosures to meet virtually any network service provider’s needs. If you’re interested in learning more about American Products and our telecommunications enclosure solutions, please contact the sales specialists at 417.323.6312.
